Admission and Family Support

We know that having a child with Down syndrome is a journey filled with love, challenges, and many questions. Our team of professionals is here to walk with you.

About our family support and admission service

At the Corporation, we believe that no family should have to walk this path alone. Learning about the diagnosis can lead to uncertainty and doubts about development, the future, and how to access the services your child needs.
But beyond therapy, our service begins with you, with your questions and emotions as a mother or father. We know that often the first step is the hardest one.

How does our admission service work?

1. Orientation Call
During this call, we will answer your initial questions and explain how the admission process works. No matter what stage of life your loved one is in, whether you are expecting a baby or have an adult child, we are here for you.

2. Initial Interview

We schedule a free appointment to learn more about your case. We strive to provide you with emotional support, up-to-date information about Down syndrome, and guidance on how to obtain authorization from the healthcare system or learn about other ways to join the Corporation.

3. Comprehensive Development Assessment or Evaluation
Once the services have been authorized by the healthcare system or you have decided to enroll privately, we will schedule a thorough and careful assessment with our specialists. This assessment allows us to identify your child's strengths, needs, and specific characteristics in terms of cognitive, emotional, psychomotor, communicative, and adaptive development.

The results of this assessment will give you clarity on: What skills has my child developed? Which areas require more support? What activities can I do to stimulate their development or learning? What strategies can I implement to facilitate more adaptive behaviors? What achievements can I expect in the short and medium term?
This information not only guides our subsequent interventions when your child enters the programs we offer, but also empowers you as a parent, providing you with real tools to accompany your child with greater confidence.
